Review: AdWords Analyzer vs. KeyWords Analyzer

Here are some useful tips for creating effective campaigns:

Conclusion

Overall, I prefer the KeyWords Analyzer application, partly because of more documentation, but mostly because there are many more options, such as the ability to use the software to analyze existing campaigns, where you can look at the keywords used, the number of campaigns and the Show Max Bids data. Another bonus is a copy of "The Keyword Master's Course," a one week program that shows you how to get the most out of KeyWord Analyzer.

When beginning the process of learning how to use AdWords, a good idea is to set a budget aside with some money that you don't mind losing, at least in the early stages (at least two weeks of learning). If you're worried about your finances, you might set the budget too low, with the result that your ads won't be seen or your keywords might be tagged as poorly performing, which will work against you.

It's also recommended not to go overboard and create multiple campaigns in the early stages. Starting with one or two campaigns is a good way to go. You'll quickly learn to see what works and what doesn't and how to improve your CTR as you go. One final note about searching. Keep it simple. If you don't need to search both Google and Overture, turn off the one you don't need. That will speed up your results.

Reference Materials

Google Cash an excellent starting place and offers a lot of information. If you're planning to spend $500.00 + online in advertising, I recommend The Definitive Guide to Google AdWords.

If you build web pages, the Web Position software is a useful tool to track your results and optimize your pages.

Wordtracker is another useful search tool which tells you what keyword combinations have been searched for over a two month period. It also tells you how many searches have been conducted, as well.

Mike's Marketing Tools This site contains a wide variety of paid (and free) resources for building web pages and marketing. The AdWords Wrapper is a time saving device when working with large keyword lists.

If you want to build web pages but you're not savvy with HTML, Site Build It is a good way to go. If you're a beginner or seasoned pro with HTML, another choice is The Affiliate Marketers Handbook 2002, by James Martell. It's an excellent resource.
