Universal Related Popup Menus

The final highlight of the URPM is universality. These menus will work with any browser and automatically adjust to the JavaScript capabilities of the browser. If the browser supports JavaScript 1.1's new Option command (Netscape 3+, and Explorer 4+ currently) they'll be related and live. If the browser supports JavaScript 1.0 they'll be live with disabled submit buttons that trigger the JavaScript jmp() function. If the browser does not support JavaScript they act like regular popup menus, the user selects an option and clicks on submit. A CGI script redirects the user to the appropriate page.

In all cases the menus look the same, and the submit buttons perform the same function (jump to the current menu option's location). The JavaScript functionality saves users clicks, time, and screen real estate.

Browser Compatibility - The menus have been tested on Netscape 2.02 (live), 3, 4, and 4.5 (all related), and IE 3.01 (live), and IE 4.01 and IE 5.0 (related). For older browsers the menus use the CGI redirect.
