The Dark Strokes Filter

Dark and ominous brushstrokes are the order of the day with this filter. It also adds extra white for contrast, and the last example on this page shows the result of turning off the black and letting the extra white shine through.

This is the result of the default settings, as shown below. Not bad for a default.


Max out the settings and things get contrasty and graphic. The Balance slider controls the intermediate shades of gray in this effect, and setting it to 10 forces everything to black or white.


Drop out the Black Intensity slider and the result is a white, saturated image.
