Step 2-
Apply the first filter
Highlight the upper left image and select Filter>Pen & Ink> Photo Crosshatch. In the dialog box that appears, set the density at 3pt, Thickness at 1pt, and move the far right histogram slider to the far left, concentrating on the shadows. These settings are shown in the image on the right.
These settings will cause the cross hatched effect to only show the shadow detail, breaking off at the 3/4 tone shadow area. As you can see, all of the mid tone and highlight information is blown out. Don't worry though...we'll bring it back later.
