The HTML+TIME capability in IE 5.5 and up allows you to end a parent's time line in synch with a child's timeline, with the endSync() method:
object.endSync = synchOption;
where synchOption can be one of the following:

first | End up a parent's timeline when the first child is not active anymore. |
last | End up a parent's timeline when the last child is not active anymore. |
childID | End up a parent's timeline when the specified child is not active anymore. |
