Internet Explorer does not support the firstChild property of the document object. In Netscape 6, the document object's first child (as well as its last child) is HTML. Click this button in Netscape 6, and see for yourself. Click in Internet Explorer and observe the error message:Examine its last child: The properties firstChild and lastChild are defined by the Document Object Model (DOM).
