The Internet Explorer LAYOUTRECT element defines the area where the source document is displayed when printed or print previewed. It serves only as a container for the source document. The LAYOUTRECT element cannot change the displayed content, not even its style. The only permitted interaction between LAYOUTRECT and the displayed content is getting the document object. If a LAYOUTRECT element ID's is layoutrect1, you can find the document object of the displayed source by getting layoutrect1.contentDocument.
