When loading an XML file into the browser's memory, the data is organized in an object, the DOMDocument object. The DOMDocument object is an extension of the DHTML DOM object. They share many methods, properties, and events, but the DOMDocument object is much richer in object members. It has 35 properties, 25 methods, and 3 events. We covered the DOM in Columns 40 through 47. We showed you there how a loaded document is modeled by a graph, with nodes and arcs. Be sure to revisit Columns 40 through 47, to get a good basic understanding of the DOM and its graph view.
