RCTPDS COMPRESSION TEST - 28.8k modem access
The key statistics are highlighed in yellow. The index.html file used for testing
was an exact copy of
Yahoo's 10,495 byte home page as of the date of testing.
EVERY TEST BELOW was performed through a 28.8k modem with the latest and greatest
MNP compression technology onboard.

3 The 'Kilobits per second' Transfer rate indicated for compressed documents is lower
because of the significant decrease in the number of bytes actually received. ApacheBench
always reports the 'Document Length' as the number of bytes transmitted from the Server
without considering that it might be compressed data. In the case of a compressed document
the VIRTUAL 'number of bytes received' would be the size of the uncompressed document.
If this value were to be used by ApacheBench during its Kilobits per second computation
then the 'Transfer rate' indication would be significantly higher.
