Using the Tool

The mailto: URL tool provides you an easy way to create mailto: URLs. This tool is based on a Netscape script that we have simplified and extended. Go ahead and try it. Fill in the address, cc, bcc, subject, and body fields. The Create URL button generates a mailto: URL. The Create Link button generates a complete link element with a link text that you can fill in the proper field. The Clear button clears all input fields. The mailto: field displays the generated URL or link. The View URL button pops up an alert window with the URL. The Test URL button invokes the default mailer and pops up a new mail message with the relevant input fields already filled in. Copy and paste the generated URL from the mailto: field to your page.
